Rooftop restaurant coming to VyStar complex in downtown Jacksonville

Dwayne Beliakoff and Jonathan Cobbs, owners of The Bread & Board, the local gourmet sandwich and board restaurant with locations in Five Points and St. Johns Town Center North, are rolling out a new concept downtown inspired by coastal Mexico.
With an anticipated May opening date, Estrella Cocina will bring 150 rooftop seats and 50 to 70 seats indoors atop the VyStar Credit Union campus building at 100 W. Bay St.
Co-owner and chef Beliakoff said the eatery’s rooftop exterior will feature fire pit gathering areas, bar tables, a lounge and table seats, with an accompanying glass wind barrier to accommodate for year-round use of the space. Estrella’s interior will tout an “airy Mediterranean-Baja Mexico” vibe that will be open for lunch, dinner and full bar service. The space is comprised of 3,500 square feet inside and a 4,500-square-foot patio. ....
