The Lakers did, however, come away with a bonus point thanks to a shootout victory. Dryden’s Geoff Kitt finished with one assist for Mercyhurst as he set up Jonathan Bendorf to give the Lakers a 2-0 lead in the first period. Purple Eagles forward Brandon Stanley, who hails from Sioux Lookout, was held off the scoresheet entirely. The two teams will play again Friday. Stanley and Kitt played together on the U18 Thistles during the 2014/2015 season. That year, Kitt finished third in team scoring with 36 points (13 goals, 23 assists) while Stanley led the team with 41 points (23 goals, 18 assists). ....
