According to a team game re-cap, the Lancers scored the game-winning goal during their seventh power play of the night. In overtime, a loose puck came to Nolan Renwick in the left circle, and he lifted a shot inside the post beating the Black Hawks goalie Charlie Glockner. O’Hara scored once in each period. Trailing 3-2, O Hara redirected a Jonah Copre shot into the net. O Hara also struck early in the game, for the game’s first goal not quite five minutes into the opening period. Matt Argentina saw O’Hara coming up the slot and put a pass on target. O’Hara snapped the puck over the left shoulder of the league’s leading goaltender, Jakub Dobes. According to a team game re-cap, Waterloo finished the opening period, up 1-0. The lone goal came from Wyatt Schingoethe when he fired it past the Steel s goalie. On a high note, Waterloo denied Chicago’s league-leading power play unit all seven times the Black Hawks were shorthanded. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) The Sioux Falls Stampede were upset 6-4 to the Waterloo Black Hawks after a four-goal third period by the visitors at the PREMIER Center Saturday night. Michael Citara, Jack Smith, Reid Pabich and Mack Motzko all scored for the Herd in the game, while Trent Burnham made the start in net, stopping 29 of 34 shots on net.
The Stampede opened the scoring for the second-straight night against the Black Hawks with a goal from forward Michael Citara on the power play. Defenseman Brent Johnson was able to put a puck on net that squirted out to Citara who sent a behind-the-back pass to the slot. The puck deflected off a Waterloo skate and past goaltender Emmett Croteau into the back of the net. Waterloo forward Teddy Lagerback responded a minute later with a goal to tie the game heading into the first intermission. ....
