Third series for Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard s Sky comedy Sky’s parenting comedy Breeders has been renewed for a third series, the broadcaster announced tonight. The news comes as the second series, starring Daisy Haggard and co-creator Martin Freeman, launches on Sky One tonight. Series two jumps forward in time so the young children of the first run are now aged ten and 13. Simon Blackwell, who co-writes the series with former stand-up Chris Addison, teased the possible third series last month, saying: ‘If there were a Season 3, we would want to make it as distinctive and as ambitious as the first two, so there would be some different stuff going on.’ ....

Indebted to his boss Christine (Sylvestra Le Touzel) for stepping in to protect him at the last minute - albeit with ulterior motives - we start series 2 with Jerry on the back foot. However when it’s revealed that the Russians have got their hands on a cyberweapon that Jerry was instrumental in developing, his intel suddenly becomes vital to national, if not international, security. Facing some demons from his past along the way, by the end of episode 1 he is firmly back in his alpha male comfort zone and heralded a hero. ....

L-R: Adnan Ahmed, Alex Moody and Katie Churchill European pay TV broadcaster Sky has hired execs from the BBC and Tiger Aspect as it looks to bolster its original comedy commissioning. Adnan Ahmed and Katie Churchill are joining Sky Studios, the satcaster’s production arm, as in-house producers, while Alex Moody has been hired as a commissioning editor for indie-led projects. Ahmed, who joins from BBC commercial arm BBC Studios, and Churchill, who joins from UK prodco Tiger Aspect, are the first hires for Sky Studios’ in-house development and production team, led by writer and producer Anil Gupta, who joined Sky Studios as creative director for comedy last October. ....
