Repairs ongoing on Chelmsford portion of Bruce Freeman Rail Trail

CHELMSFORD The Bruce Freeman rail Trail remains partly closed, as repairs continue on the stretch running through town.
We will be back on the bike path Monday.with two crews one removing bad areas of hot top, and another removing roots, and regrading and prepping for hot top, said Assistant Highway Superintendent Jon Eriksen.
According to Eriksen, the path will be closed from the Lowell line to Maple Road. Other closures will be announced as needed.
Repairs, restoration
The goal is to eliminate root incursions on the path, and repair wear and tear that has occurred since the trail s construction, said Melissa Joyce, the town s sustainability manager. ....
