Readers sound off on the NYT's Israel coverage, Trump's Bronx rally and NYC agency power

Manhattan: In a May 16 New York Times article ("How Israeli extremists won," by David Leonhardt) the writer helps to vilify the Jewish settlers like Itamar Ben-Gvir due to their sporadic hostility toward the Palestinians who openly abhor them, and who, on occasion, slaughter dozens or even hundreds of Jews whenever feasible.

Readers sound off on the afterlife, CUNY cuts and jury duty

Chicago: I keep asking theists: What does one do in heaven? They keep running away from this question. Oh sure, I get cheap answers like, “We will be working hard,” “you won’t be bored, don’t worry” (well, that is not what I was asking). None of them go into detail.

Readers sound off on dog rescuers, windmills and library funding

Forked River, N.J.: Today’s world has many stories of cruelty and suffering, but the story about those dogs who are being saved by the good people of No Dogs Left Behind is a ray of hope (“Dogs won’t be dinner,” March 24).

Readers sound off on a Trump subpoena, no hockey coverage and Kanye

Chicago: Donald Trump has said he would like to testify before the Jan. 6 Committee provided it conforms to his rules, including a live telecast. But he couldn’t possibly be that stupid, could he?

Readers sound off on Fox News coverage, Cassidy Hutchinson and gun victims

Raritan, N.J.: As I stated in a previous letter, I make it a point to watch as much Fox News as I can take to see how they cover stories as compared to other networks. After the testimony from Mark Meadows aide Cassidy Hutchinson, Fox was in all-out Donald Trump defense mode. Perhaps they haven’t gotten the memo that most sane Republican legislators are done with Trump.
