The Buddhist humanitarian relief organization Join Together Society Korea (JTS Korea), founded by the renowned Korean Seon (Zen) monk Venerable Pomnyun Sunim, working in cooperation with the Preah Sihanouk Raja Buddhist University, Battambang Branch (SBUBB), has reported the successful distribution of emergency relief supplies in Cambodia’s Battambang Province in the wake of last year’s devastating floods.
In late 2020, the worst flooding in a decade inundated large areas of Cambodia, already reeling from the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Buddhist humanitarian relief organization Join Together Society Korea (JTS Korea), founded by the renowned Korean Seon (Zen) monk Venerable Pomnyun Sunim, working in cooperation with the International Network of Engaged Buddhists (INEB) and the Kalyana Mitta Development Foundation (KMF), has donated US$130,000 in COVID-19 medical relief supplies to Myanmar.

The Buddhist humanitarian organization Join Together Society Korea (JTS Korea), founded by the renowned Korean Seon (Zen) monk and engaged Buddhist Venerable Pomnyun Sunim, has provided a recent update on its relief program to provide gas stoves to Rohingya refugees living in refugees camps in Bangladesh after fleeing oppression in Myanmar.
In January 2019, Ven. Pomnyun Sunim led a delegation of aid representatives, including JTS President Gena Park, JTS Goodwill Ambassadors screenwriter Noh Hee-kyung and actor Jo In-sung, along with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) chairman Lee Mi-kyung, to deliver a consignment of 100,000 gas stoves to a refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar, a district of Bangladesh’s Chittagong Division. Engaged Buddhism: INEB, JTS Korea Launch Female Sangha Initiative for Social Transformation in Southeast Asia

The International Network of Engaged Buddhists (INEB), in cooperation with the Buddhist humanitarian relief organization Join Together Society Korea (JTS Korea), has announced the launch of the Female Sangha Initiative For Social Transformation in Southeast Asia, with a call for grant applications from sanghas, groups, and organizations across Buddhist traditions in Southeast Asia.
Coordinated by INEB and funded by JTS Korea, the Female Sangha Initiative For Social Transformation in Southeast Asia aims to offer an avenue for addressing social inequities facing female practitioners in Buddhist communities across the region, and to empower women as leaders and agents of social change and transformation. Engaged Buddhism: JTS Korea Brings Warmth to Vulnerable Communities amid Winter Freeze

The Buddhist humanitarian relief organization Join Together Society Korea (JTS Korea), founded by the renowned Korean Seon (Zen) monk Venerable Pomnyun Sunim, is spreading the warmth of compassion through a US$10,000 project to distribute coal briquettes to vulnerable households across South Korea as the country settles into another cold winter season, when temperatures can sometimes drop as low as –20ºC.
As recently as 30 years ago, lignite coal briquettes were the main fuel for heating and cooking in Korean households, and are still relied upon by some impoverished communities. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, donations of briquettes for underprivileged families nationwide have dropped to a third of levels recorded a year earlier. ....
