They transport people in emergency situations to far-away hospitals for a yearly membership fee of $75, with no additional costs, to families and individuals. They've been serving Norris City residents for several years. The board tabled the matter until next month's board meeting so they could see whether enough board members and village employees would be willing to join. The Norris City Chamber of Commerce has been interested in holding their meetings in the old insurance building that was previously occupied by Chad Mitsdarfer. Mayor Skip Land and the board members offered the Chamber half the building to meet and the village would be willing to pay the utilities until the end of the year, and then re-evaluate the situation. Chamber President Emmy Pruitt said they would be interested in taking up the offer and will most likely vote on it in their upcoming Thursday meeting

Norris City Chamber Shows Interest In Old Country Companies Building

(WRUL) The Norris City Village Board heard a request Monday Evening for TIF funds from Emmy Pruitt of the Norris City Chamber of Commerce. She said they were interested in using the old Country Companies building to meet, as they they're now meeting in the old ambulance building. The village's TIF attorney, Anthony Schuering, was at the meeting and advised Pruitt that since they're a 501C6, that there are various restrictions on funds, and each case is considered on an individual basis. Mayor Skip Land added that there aren't any new TIF monies coming in until possibly this fall. He said the village owns the building they're interested in and is about to be appraised for possible sale. The usual procedure is to meet with the TIF committee and then make a decision at the next board meeting, so the matter was tabled until the March Village Board meeting. In other TIF business, Kelly Johnson of Johnson Investments spoke with the board about his request for $37,000
