APOPKA, Fla. – It’s been almost 53 years since the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the activist, and civil rights leader continues to be remembered around the world for his legacy and what he stood for.
The city of Apopka celebrated its 12th year of commemorating Dr. King and his life work with a parade.
“I would like them to reflect on the dream that Dr. King had,” Chairperson for the parade Monique Morris said. ....

Raleigh, N.C. Johnny Marhsall has worked with UPS for 30 years in Raleigh. He s had the same route for 25 years, near North Hills Drive and Lead Mine Road.
Jennifer Etkin, resident of one of the neighborhoods on Johnny s route, said he was a part of the fabric of the neighborhood. He knows her children s names, what they re studying and what sports they play.
He helps us stay in the know if the neighbors need help, she said. He is such a gem.
Johnny would deliver packages with a big smile, a wave and a friendly toot-toot of his horn, community members said. ....
