Aos 17 anos, a paulistana Tereza Trautman trocou a medicina por um curso de interpretação e direção, se aproximou de cineastas como Luiz Sérgio Person, João Silvério Trevisan e Carlos Reichenbach e aos 22 anos lançava seu primeiro longa, Os homens que eu tive, em 1973.
Escrito, editado e dirigido pela jovem cineasta, após seis semanas em cartaz e com sucesso de público e crítica, o filme foi censurado pela ditadura militar e liberado somente em 1980 com o título Os Homens e Eu. No filme, Tereza falava da liberdade e da individualidade da mulher, além de abordar a independência sexual feminina. ....
