Escrito, editado e dirigido pela jovem cineasta, após seis semanas em cartaz e com sucesso de público e crítica, o filme foi censurado pela ditadura militar e liberado somente em 1980 com o título Os Homens e Eu. No filme, Tereza falava da liberdade e da individualidade da mulher, além de abordar a independência sexual feminina.
