University of Kentucky's Symphony Orchestra will continue their 2023-24 season with Antonín Dvořák’s Cello Concerto with special guest Amit Peled 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Singletary Center for the Arts. The concert will also feature Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 and the Kentucky premiere of “Lumina,” by composer and multimedia artist Nina Shekhar.
The University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra and UK Choirs close out the 2022-23 performance season in a monumental way with Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, “Resurrection,” at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 21, at the Singletary Center for the Arts.
After a weather cancellation, Jennifer Koh returns to Lexington to perform with the UK Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro John Nardolillo on April 7.
“Stars of Tomorrow” is an all-out gala showcasing popular tunes and classic repertory from the operatic stage, featuring the young artists of the nationally recognized UK Opera Theatre, produced by internationally known impresario conductor, Everett McCorvey. This exciting concert will feature current students and alumni of the program, accompanied by the UK Symphony Orchestra, conducted by John Nardolillo.
