Man dies, child injured in crash Wednesday evening in Pequea Twp.: police


A man died and a child was injured after a crash that happened on Willow Street Pike on Wednesday evening, according to Pequea Township police. 
The crash happened at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 3500 block of Willow Street Pike South (Rt. 272), police said. 
A 62-year-old man from Holtwood crashed into the back of a parked SUV that had pulled over onto the shoulder of the road, police said. 
The 62-year-old was freed from his vehicle and taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries, police said. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. ....

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa.
Update: (Feb. 26) Police have released the identity of the driver who died in the Pequea Township crash Thursday evening.
William Fisher, 62, from Park Lane in Holtwood was the driver who succumbed to his injuries.

The Pequea Township Police Department is investigating a deadly crash that occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. on Feb 24 in the 3500 block of Willow Street Pike South in Pequea Township.
Police say a preliminary investigation found that a 2013 Toyota Highlander had pulled over to the shoulder of the right side of the roadway. A 2009 Chevy HHR driven by a 62-year-old male from Holtwood, Pa. struck the rear of the Highlander.  ....

A 62-year-old man who on Wednesday rear-ended a car parked on the side of a Lancaster County road Wednesday has died of his injuries, police said.
The unidentified Martic Township resident was driving south around 4:50 p.m. on the 3500 block of Willow Street Pike South when he rammed into the back of a Toyota Highlander, Pequea Township police said.
A 40-year-old from Lebanon was driving the Highlander and had three passengers, police said. They said an 11-year-old boy from that car was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. ....
