the house? is that what you re suggesting? or just noting it s unusual? i don t know. you re referring to an earlier press i did earlier, and i just made the i guess, stated the obvious. which is john learner is her head political guy, he was my head political guy when i was governor. he reads the political winds very, very, very well. and i didn t know if there was another shoe to drop from the trump standpoint, mueller standpoint, mid election standpoint. but is it about exiting stage left before something comes on that front? something we don t know? or on the contrary, is it something from her end? you know, all kinds of rumors are swirling down here in south carolina. is it, you know, this report that came out or this i guess letter of query of private plane hu usage that came out over the weekend or monday. is there something there she just wants to exit so she doesn t have to deal with that as a public figure? other people saying money.
something doesn t smell right. something s weird. i can t put my finger on it. you know, her head political guy, a guy by the name of john learner used to be my lead guy, and that guy keeps his nose to the political winds. he has an acute sense of what s going on, and so either there s another shoe to drop from a trump standpoint, something that we don t know and that she wants to get out of the way of or alternatively there was this, you know, inquiry i guess put in yesterday on private planes, and given what she saw happen to price and what she saw happen to pruitt, maybe she just doesn t want to, you know, risk the possibility of blemish or the possibility of being pushed out as both of them were given the private plane question. so something doesn t quite fit. it s just so shocking, so surprising given, again, her aptitude and interest. i think she did a good job. i think she s surpassed a lot of
we re at inflection point. rhetorically, let s say, if not on the ground. both policies are moving in opposite directions in many ways. on north korea we have a situation now where the president is being teed up to get a second meeting with kim jong-un post the mike pompeo visit there this past weekend looking to see real denuclearization move forward. at the same time on iran, there are real concerns that the u.s. is beating the drums of war towards iran, and it will need to use the u.n. as a pedestal, as a platform, really to advance that policy. both policies going in opposite directions here. yeah, and i absolutely think that, you know, i think one thing about nikki haley is that, you know, her deputy also john learner is expected to leave. like her absence will really clear out. it will create a big power vacuum in the administration, and i think it will be curious to see in this era of the rise of bolton and pompeo s close relationship with the president. and how about th
woman elected governor there, and you and i both know how big of a deal that is in south carolina. in terms of her political future, congressman, what would you surmise? the sky s the limit, particularly getting out as she is. that s why there s something else going on that i suspect will reveal itself over time, but it allows her to leave, exit stage right, with an unblemished record and frankly a very strong record based on the things you earlier mentioned as well as now the foreign policy experience with this particular posting. you recommended john learner who did some work with you, i spent some time with him and the ambassador over in jordan during her first trip overseas. also republican pollster who s done some work for mike pence as well. the ambassador leaving right now, the timing of course is
