this latest threat. good morning, nic. good morning, john. well, the french are saying the threat they ve been tipped off by the saudis is active or about to be active. that the threat level right now is very real, that france remains vigilant. but perhaps significantly they re not increasing their terror threat level, which is at the second highest level heightened red, the top level is scarlet. they re not ramping up their threat level to that highest level at the moment. but if we look at what s happened in france recently, two times the eiffel tower has been evacuated under suspicion of terror threats, and the interior minister over the weekend saying these tips coming from saudi arabia are of concern that france is on top of the threat. they say france has spoiled two such terror threats in the past year and have 61 people in jail on terror-related charges. nic robertson in london this morning, thanks. and more on the hunt for osama bin laden this morning. a hi ....

anticipation building here. reporter: well, john, we have been here for seven weeks now watching this rescue operation unfold. and i have never seen things moving as fast as they are now. look over my shoulder there where you can see the lights. and that is where the rescue, where the extraction point is going to be. and things, as you say, everything is a go. the steel encasing is in place, the cement platform, we re told the cement has dried. and then we saw video of one of those test runs of the phoenix capsule, a capsule that is going to haul these men back to the surface. and that was dropped down, right down to the depth of almost 2,000 feet. and you can see they ve attached the camera on it as it went down that shaft. it s going to be a tight fit, but you can bet as each miner comes up that shaft, it s going to be the ride of their lives. what s left to do? what are they waiting for before they send that capsule down there, i guess, with a paramedic and anoth ....

experts are telling us. nationals from a country, going to pakistan, being trained, and being sent back home. reporter: yeah, it possibly would be. if these were indeed five germans killed in that drone strike, that would be something that european and american authorities would be very concerned about. we re still looking into that information as you said to pakistani officials have confirmed, indeed, it was five germans. but you know when a missile hits a building, it s hard to determine who was inside without dna evidence. we re still waiting to get further information. as you said, if these were indeed five germans, then it could be related to that plot in europe, which apparently also originated in germany. and when thing we know from u.s. officials is one of the reasons the drone strikes were stepped up last month was in relation to that terror plot in europe. this could be the case, we re not sure, but we are looking into it, john. and do we know how many for ....
