Campers arrive at John James Audubon State Park ahead of Monday eclipse

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) Settling in 24 hours before the total eclipse over the Tri-State, countless tourists hit the brakes and have arrived to John James Audubon State Park. Monday's event is bringing about 60 RVs to Henderson. Monday's eclipse is bringing tourists of all ages to town, and they come from Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio and Ontario. The Pompa family drove 15 hours from North Palm Beach, Florida, and, as a science teacher, Jessica Pompa wants to video the totality to show her students. "We actually had a reservation at a different state park that was only 90% totality," Jessica says. "And then I read that people said, 'no, if you're going to go, you got to be in 100% totality.' So, we changed to John Audubon State Park, and we're excited." Alejandro DeBarros from Clarksville, Tennessee will be working to grab photos of the eclipse too.
