Porters s pullman the politics of black america. 19141917. Her second book is, the making of black detroit in the age of henry ford, 1920 1945. She is currently completing another book on detroit titled, black detroit and the promise of america, 1940 11970, which she is coauthoring with timothy hs. Awill have michael fellow in the michigan test in the of egalitarianism metropolis at the university of michigan. He is currently working on a manuscript entitled, wildcat of the stritch streets, which examines Police Reform and postwar detroit alongside social organizations. We will have Heather Thompson. About purpose is to learn and think about a new book of great importance to members of our society. Davids new book protestants abroad it, a missionary tried to change the world but changed america, we have the galleys. It is not quite available in bookstores. It appears this fall from rinsed in the press. I have the honor of sharing this roundtable. We will proceed as follows. First, david will speak to lay out the books major themes.
