PennDOT will be closing northbound lanes of the John Harris Bridge in Cumberland and Dauphin counties between Jan. 9 and 11.

The section of Interstate 83 north that runs across the John Harris Memorial (South) Bridge will be closed over the weekend for emergency repairs, PennDOT said.
The bridge’s contractor is fixing a damaged expansion dam on the bridge between Saturday night and Monday morning. The repairs will prevent further damage to the bridge structure below and improve the ride quality across the bridge, PennDOT said. ....

HARRISBURG, Pa. A lane restriction has been implemented on northbound Interstate 83 on the John Harris Memorial (South) Bridge spanning the Susquehanna River in the area around Exit 43 (Second Street) in the City of Harrisburg.
A contractor is adjusting temporary repairs made recently to an expansion dam on the bridge.
The right lane is closed. The two left lanes are open.
Motorists should be alert, drive with caution, and watch for changing traffic patterns at this location.

Bridge repairs to affect I-83 traffic in Harrisburg this weekend

Traffic will be restricted this weekend on a Harrisburg stretch Interstate 83 north while contractors make repairs to the John Harris Memorial (South) Bridge.
A lane restriction and ramp closure will be in effect along the Susquehanna River near exit 43 to Second Street, PennDOT said.
Repairs will begin around 7 p.m. Saturday and wrap up around 10 a.m. Sunday.
Northbound traffic will shift to the right lane while work is completed on the two left lanes, PennDOT said. The left lanes will then reopen, and the right and ramp lanes will close until work is completed Sunday morning. ....
