This North Texas city’s population has grown by more than 230 percent since 2001
One of the country’s perennially fastest-growing cities, McKinney is approaching 200,000 residents.

The annual population estimate from the city marks about a 1.6% increase over one year ago.
“It is always our hope that families, companies and investors will look at McKinney and have the desire to make us their destination, and the numbers suggest that they are,” said city manager Paul Grimes in a news release.
The city’s population has increased from 58,438 in 2001 to 198,507 in 2021, according to city estimates. Last year, McKinney was named the fourth fastest-growing city in the country, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates, and has been ranked as such for several years. ....
