We currently have are in the process of ordering 15 new ambulances for our e. M. S. Division. We expect delivery of ten of the units in mid to late february , and then five Additional Units probably 60 to 90 days thereafter. We had the Apparatus Committee medications. Weve had a discussion about that. Commissioner covington state of the art, i hope. Yes. Commissioner covington okay. What is the change in the fentanyl deployment, just so everyone knows . So we give medication on the ambulances, and the providers, and weve been using morphine. The medical directors have for the city and the e. M. S. Agency said they want to switch over and use fentanyl and see it as a better medication for the patients. So weve just through the process of switching over, doing some training, and now, on the ambulance, we have deployed fentanyl to give to our patients who are having pain on a pain scale over six per the county policy. captioning sponsored by cbs this is the cbs evening news with scott pelley. pelley: a rescue at sea is under way tonight after a u.s. navy destroyer was badly damaged in a collision with a merchant ship off the coast of japan. a distress call was received from the u.s.s. fitzgerald, and it appears there are casualties. cbs national security correspondent david martin is following this at the pentagon. reporter: this is what the u.s. navy destroyer fitzgerald looked like shortly after colliding with a merchant ship off the coast of japan. some of the ship s crew are not yet accounted for, and others are injured. the fitzgerald s captain has also been reported injured, and his executive officer is now in charge of damage control. the ship is taking on water below decks, and you can see that hoses are pumping water overboard as the fitzgerald waits for the japanese coast guard to come to her assistance. the condition of the merchant vessel and its crew is unclear.
