mark, as far as the senate finance committee in the east, your rally points out september 15th, that was the date that months ago max baucus said was the deadline. if they don t produce something tomorrow, fair to assume congress will move forward without them and the committee essentially becomes not as big a deal? well, david, you know, baucus has been waiting for the republican members of that so-called gang of six to come aboard. and always, if they didn t come aboard by that date, he would come out with this bill. so i do think they re going to come out with a bill, it just depends whether you re going to see republican support from senators like chuck grassley and mike endsy. chances are those two republican senators won t be supporting any type of bill. the one person to support the legislation would be olympia snow, the republican senator from maine. thanks, mark. and tamron, make sure to check out first read first thing every morning. log on to firstr ....

respects if the media had ignored it, too, you would have to wonder if it would have gotten as big as it is. i think there may be aspects of this that movement-like. the risk for the republicans is that nobody is really trying to harness or control that movement. there s no indication whether anybody actually can. the republican party some they don t draw the line at all saying, hey, come on, knock off the signs. it s about health care reform. this was dick army s thing. he was a former leader in the republican party. these are the people he s ginned up that come to washington and do this kind of stuff. i think we probably try to simplify it too much by saying who owns it? here s the organization behind it these organizations are involved in it. one of the things i was struck by, so many of these people are saying it s an organic movement. they re not being told by anybody to come when it s against you, it s astroturfing. when it s for you it s org ....
