Never quite forget days like this. [ music ] reporter hundreds of Law Enforcement officers remembered one of their own today. Mike foley dedicated nearly 40 years to keeping his community safe, 29 with the Concord Police department, and 10 as a deputy for the Alameda County sheriffs office. Anybody that can do 40 years in a job like this and still get up every morning and be motivated and energetic and the hardest working guy on your shift, Pretty Amazing character. It just goes to show, you know, the type of person he was. Reporter deputy foley grew up in concord. He was a star athlete at Concord High School and was considered by many to be a great presence in the community. He even covered events in this pavilion several times. We have to remember the Concord Police department had mike as part of their family for 29 years. So they are really hurting, as well. He was a mentor and a teacher and a trainer to many of their officers, who are now leaders in their organizations. Reporter Se

This is tragic accident and as a family, we feel like we are caught in the middle. The family of the man who gunned down officer Stephen Johnson speaks out for the first time. Reporter more than 100 people gathered for a candlelight vigil with San Jose Police officer Michael Johnson was gunned down, but the tragic shooting has been hard for the family of the suspects, too, 57yearold scott dunham. We feel like we are caught in the middle, because we are mourning for the officer, and for our uncle. Reporter they responded to the call of a suicidal man when dunham shot and killed the officer. He does have bipolar and the alcohol ixand all of it took effect, and we want the community to know that we do care and we are sorry.
