FRIENDS of a teenager, who was haunted by his mother’s murder and took his own life, have clubbed together pay a fine imposed for holding a balloon release in his memory.
Police estimated around 200 young people attended the memorial event held in the wake of Jamie McKitten’s tragic suicide on the railway in Chester-le-Street.
It was organised by his good friend Tyler James amid an outpouring of grief after the tragic death of the 17-year-old on March 31.
It involved the release of around 1,000 green balloons and green smoke grenades on the football field behind the community in Great Lumley on April 11. ....
