For those of you who have come to a number of our sessions. We are promised and we are promising each other that well do more in the coming seasons. We have a topic today that we think is one of the best that weve come up with, its a neglected civil war story. Because of the focus on shermans march through georgia. Theres a little less attention on shermans other march, which followed the march through georgia. Take a look at this scowling man in a fantastic coat, as we begin talking about him. Im going to start with john who as you heard has written two wonderful books about william sherman, and i think we need to know how you can do it in a few minutes his family, his psyche, tell us something about this fellow in the double breasted uniform coat. This picture that you see was taken of sherman and he didnt want t

He was still coaching and george i was going to push him off the ridge. He had retired by then. Although i dont know that as much help. I was also interested in what kevin said this morning. The old lady came out she heard the pearl harbor and said to the end hes going to be with us this time . December 8, 1941. Our first speaker this morning comes to us from the macarthur memorial in a norfolk, virginia. When i was there visiting this spring. It was my first opportunity to get it down and visit. He said the only thing that is equitable for the type of thing he is overseeing would be a president ial library. That stunned me a little bit. That is a significant thing. If you think about what Douglas Macarthur did during world war ii, afterwards in korea, he really shaped the face of the pacific in a way that no one else has. That repository of documents and memorabilia and artifacts is really a significant component of the 20thcentury. Chris kolakowski is the caretaker of that. He got started in fredericksburg in spotsylvania. He has since gone on to perryville, where he was in charge of the battlefield out there. He has
