I’m shocked. I just can’t believe the City Council, especially Councilmember Calvin Say, would hear or introduce a bill to penalize citizens for removing shopping carts from their properties and leaving said carts on streets and sidewalks (“Honolulu City Council pushes fines, jail for shopping cart violations,” Star-Advertiser, Sept. 10).
So far, only non-greedy City Councilmembers Augie Tulba and Andria Tupola have stood up for not approving the 64% pay hike (“2 Honolulu Council members urge rejection of salary hikes,” Star-Advertiser, May 3).
Recently, Baron Fukata wrote about the weeds growing on the H-1 on-ramp by University Avenue, and how the weeds have grown blocking the eyesight of oncoming traffic (“Replace high-growing weeds with artificial turf,” Star-Advertiser, Letters, April 6).
