“On the advice of our medical team, the Administration does not intend to lift these restrictions on 1/26. In fact, we plan to strengthen public health measures around international travel in order to further mitigate the spread of COVID-19,” Psaki continued.
Thirty-four percent of Americans approve of the job Trump is doing as president, a Gallup poll published Monday found, representing the lowest approval rating he has had since assuming office.
Trump s 41 percent average approval rating throughout his four years in office is 4 points lower than for any of his predecessors in the White House in Gallup s polling era, the firm reported.

A 34 percent approval rating is a single point lower than his prior lowest rating, which came on multiple occasions in 2017.
Trump is the first president to fail to crack a 50 percent approval rating at any point since Gallup began measuring presidential job approval in 1938.
Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller said Monday that law enforcement officials are vetting National Guard troops stationed in the nation’s capital but that officials have “no intelligence indicating an insider threat” to President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration this week.
“Our administration will hit the ground running to deliver immediate, urgent relief to Americans; confront the overlapping crises of COVID-19, the historic economic downturn, systemic racism and inequality, and the climate crisis; and get this government working for the people it serves,” Biden said in a statement Monday.
“These tireless public servants will be a key part of our agenda to build back better and I am confident they will help make meaningful change and move our country forward,” he continued.
