Educate Together has won the patronage of the new secondary school in Gorey, which is to open in September 2021. The online patronage contest allowed parents to vote for their preference, with the final decision taken by Minister Norma Foley based off recommendations by the New Schools Establishment Group. Educate Together put forward a bid for the patronage(alongside Catholic body Ceist and the WWETB, and were announced as the successful candidate. Local parent Joanne O Grady, from the Educate Together campaign, said that all the team were very excited about the future. The new school will enhance the current provision available in the town and more students in Gorey will now have the opportunity to avail of their first choice, whether this is Creagh College, Gorey Community School or the new Educate Together Secondary School.
