I started writing about my experience in iraq with the washington post, nearly 10 years, the same things i learned in the army about honesty and integrity motive the to share the experience and i recognized in an oped, 700 or 800 words, the obligation to continue to write led to more opeds and multiform essays and the creation of the book.
