Mumbai: Pune based mountaineer Jitendra Gaware conquerors Mount Everest
Pune based mountaineering organization Giripremi member Jitendra Gaware on Wednesday climbed Mount Everest at 7.30 am. He climbed two 8000 meters peak in just 25 days as he climbed Mount Annapurna-I on April 16 and Mount Everest on May 12.
Jitendra started his summit push around 9.30 pm on Tuesday. He was accompanied by his fellow Sherpa Pasang Zarok Sherpa, Jigmat Tharchin (a mountaineer from Ladakh) and his fellow Sherpa. After gruelling climb for over 10 hours, all the four members reached the summit of Mt Everest having an altitude of 8848.86 meters. Jitendra faced severe cold spells throughout the climb as the temperature fell down to minus 40 degrees. The gushing winds and low oxygen level (only 1 to 2%) tested the skills of mountaineers. ....

Three mountaineers from the city scaled the 10th highest mountain peak in the world
Annapurna-1 on April 16. Bhagwan Chawale, Sumeet Mandale and Jitendra Gaware were accompanied by two climbers from Mumbai and an Everester from Satara, Priyanka Mohite (26). Incidentally, Mohite became the first Indian woman to scale the peak after the successful ascent.
