democrat and republican point of view.ç i would like to see him go in and bring a vision for america. jim, one of my thoughts i heard when he was doing it there, wow. do you want to compare yourself to ronald reagan? we have a heck of a time to appraise a speech when we have seen six minutes of it. it was a standard variety of the american people. the speech will get some coverage. the question is can he actually grab people? can he get people fired up? he is more electric and dynamic than tim pawlenty? and make the pawlenty people satisfied? that is the trick. you will not do it with one speech. you will do it within the next
now. let s bring in wayne holland and jim vandehyde. jon huntsman has an uphill battle if you look at polls. he finished dead last in the msnbc news poll. how big a threat is he for the nomination? you can safely call that is uphill fight at 1% in the polls. there is no doubt he comes in relatively unknown. there is a poll out that about one-third of republicans are aware of him. that means there is a tremendous amount of room for growth. certainly some folks in the press and people like the profile of the candidate as he is presenting himself. today, can he catch on with conservative activists looking for a fighter who can go toe-to-toe with president barack obama? that is not what you will see from huntsman. he will talk about civility and having a respectful tone.
