The recent Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show held recently at the OKC Fairgrounds generated an estimated direct spending impact of $12.61 million, officials reported this week.

Last year, a year that saw attendance impacted by continuing concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic, still witnessed a local economic impact of the fair of more than $100 million. According to fair officials, some 900,000 people turned out to enjoy attractions over the course of the fair’s 11-day run. Though most were from the city or from surrounding suburbs like Edmond or Yukon, about a quarter came from out of town. Direct spending into the OKC economy generated by the 11 days of fun was estimated to have been at least $103 million.
