ten shots were fired. the young girl was sitting in her great-grandmother s kitchen here on the 4400 block of north gratz street. a bullet went through the siding and the drywall and struck her in the right leg. reporter: police are trying to figure out why and who fired the semiautomatic weapon. it s not safe out here. it s not safe nowhere. you just got to like just really watch your back and just in and out right now, getting cold, stay in the house. reporter: hours before, there was a double shooting nearby. police were investigating whether these two shootings are related. she s still very fortunate that she was only hit in the leg, and she s in stable condition because the spent shell casings we found and the ballistic evidence are .45 caliber, which are very large. reporter: back live now at einstein medical center, the little girl, 14 years old, being treated here at the moment. and overnight police say the crime was captured on several surveillance camera
