Good morning. We have a lot to get to this week. We begin with the latest on the devastating storm. Hurricane harvey has been downgraded. A tropical depression now. The damage is significant. The danger is real. Especially in the city of houston. More than 6 million americans are facing lifethreatening floods. Overnight, more than 1,000 rescues. Authorities now warning people to get out of their at ix and on to their roofs. The citys 911 system is overloaded. Citizens asked to call only if theyre in imminent danger. And with the ground already waterlogged, the storm slowing to a crawl. That danger could grow in the days ah ....

Well, you know, monica, i was a College Student during the rizzo years, and i think, you know, i always thought it interesting that he was one of the few mayors, if not the only mayor, that has such a prominent statue, just given how divisive he was. Whether you come down on him being the greatest mayor in the history of the city or the worst, usually someone that divisive you dont give such a prominent position. And, in fact, maybe the only one dilworth has his plaza full disclosure member of that law firm. But no statue. And probably a more transformative mayor than frank rizzo. So, yeah. I think mayor kenney has this right. I think the Arts Commission needs to make a decision, and i expect that that statue will be moved. House speaker. Now, the state senate, as you know, has the largest republican majority since 1950. Theres the guy thats gonna have to deal with them, governor tom wolf, a democrat. The state house has the biggest republican majority since 1958. Goodness me. Dom giordano, how is Governor Wolf going to do anything over this next calendar year . Well, hes gonna have a lot of trouble doing anything. Hes gonna be on the defensive, but i dont have a lot of faith in these guys in harrisburg who are republicans. How come . You still have the liquor law in place, even though weve had widespread pushback with wolf, and they just seem to be out of touch. The sanctuary cities bill got passed, wolf vetoed it, but they ran out of days and didnt do anything with it.
