And he had a neighbor running and knocking on doors and waking people up. He believes that that man saved lives this morning because he believes he would have stayed asleep, as would his roommate, and he worries maybe he wouldnt have woken up. He doesnt know the stater of his home. Hes at a safe distance, letting firefighters do their work. Hes just waiting, but he is feeling grateful that someone took control and thought of others while this fire was burning. We also talked to a woman who lives in alameda. She could see it from her home and instantly thought of her grandmother. She headed this way. Her grandmother does live in a building near this fire. She did get evacuated and safely got out.
