quiet street and neighbors say it was a quiet household until today. greg napora left for work at 8:00, came home at noon and sometime in between his pregnant wife darla was mauled by one of their two pet pit bulls. found the dog hovering over his wife. she had major trauma to her body and face. reporter: bitten dozens of time, not breathing on her living room floor. firefighters tried to give her cpr. and while there, the dogs attacked firefighters. many didn t know they were there, had never seen the pit bulls outdoors. those dogs were dangerous. i wouldn t have one and i wouldn t want my family around them. reporter: but the naporo s nearest neighbor said their dogs were always well behaved. if the dogs were ever barking, she would call them off and they always responded very well. reporter: for this distraught husband, it came out of the blue. we were able to give him a change of clothing and have some relatives respond and we were able to interview hi ....
