The Shakespearean Taranaki town of Stratford may be known for its link to the Bard, but its discovery trail shows off some of its hidden gems.
Te Ara o Ruaputahanga ki Whakaahurangi (Stratford Discovery Trail) was mapped out by the local council this summer, leading walkers through six kilometres of the town’s many attractions.
And while the trail runs past the Southern Hemisphere’s only glockenspiel, which has figurines of Romeo and Juliet reaffirming their vows four times a day, and along its Shakespeare-named roads, it’s the parts further away from State Highway 3 that need to be discovered. ....
