vehicle passed the hospital on his way back to the station minding his own business. they don t know why that suspect opened fire. this happened last night along civic center drive. police say the officer was driving past washington hospital and as he approached the intersection, he saw a man emerge from the bus stop area, point a handgun and fired several rounds. the police car was hit and the police man used his rifle to return fire. two other officers nearby responded to the scene and saw the suspect on the grounds. they noticed that the individual was waving his arms on the ground and there was a firearm. just next to this individual. at that time, they ordered him not to move but he was waving his hands. they continued to tell the suspect not to move. the suspect crawled towards the firearm, grabbed onto the firearm, pointed it at our officers and both of our officers fired at the suspect striking him. the suspect was killed. no officers were injured. a police car wa
