Since vaccinations began with much fanfare on Dec. 14, Quebec has, on average, provided the first dose to only about 33,000 people per week. In total, just under 300,000 doses have been administered.
The pace should pick up in coming weeks.
On Monday, the federal government said it expects the single largest vaccine shipment to Canada this week.
For Quebec, that will translate into 91,260 Pfizer-BioNTech doses.
And for the following six weeks, the average weekly delivery to the province should number 102,000 doses, Ottawa says.
In total, between now and April 4, Quebec expects 705,510 vaccine Pfizer-BioNTech doses, as well as at least 28,500 Moderna vaccine doses
