The nonprofit organization Norwescap in Phillipsburg has launched a $290,000 financial relief program aimed at helping small-business owners in town financially reeling from the coronavirus pandemic.
Many New Jersey businesses took financial hits beginning in March when New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy issued a shutdown order affecting non-essential businesses. The shutdown was lifted on June 9 with restrictions, including maximum-capacity guidelines. Several regional businesses were forced to close their doors, citing the financial blows set forth by the coronavirus pandemic.
