Commissioners to discuss COVID-19 vaccination site at work session Thursday At its meetings on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, the Dawson County Board of Commissioners is set to discuss a number of important topics, including possible locations for a COVID-19 vaccination site, the county’s agreement with the Georgia Forestry Commission and several proposed rezonings. According to Commission Chairman Billy Thurmond, the board is considering several possible locations for the Dawson County Health Department to set up a secondary vaccination site so that large numbers of people can be vaccinated against COVID-19. In January, Dawson County held a vaccination event at Rock Creek Park that distributed over 800 vaccines to community members and first responders in a single day. ....
