RANCHI: The Ranchi archdiocese on Saturday held a requiem (funeral) mass at St Mary’s Cathedral to bid farewell to 84-year-old Father Stan Swamy, who died at Mumbai s Holy Family Hospital on July 5, while in judicial custody.
Only a handful of church officials and sisters attended the mass following the Covid protocols though the mass was broadcast live on social media platforms. Prominent among those present were Fr Felix Toppo, archbishop of Ranchi, Fr Theodore Mascarenhas, Bishop of Ranchi, Fr Jerry Kuttina, provincial of Jamshedpur, Fr Santosh Minj, provincial of Hazaribagh among others. ....
