MIDLAND, Mich. One year ago, heavy rains caused the Edenville Dam near Sanford, Mich. to fail. That sent water rushing out of Wixom Lake downstream to the Sanford Dam, located a street away from downtown Sanford. That dam also failed, crippling the town.
