Aguilar told the CVSO and the City Agriculture Office (CAO) to conduct surprise inspections and monitoring to determine whether the order was being followed by vendors in public markets, including groceries and supermarkets.
She said a team of CVSO and CSO personnel will be going around the city to ensure compliance with the price cap on basic commodities.
On Monday, February 8, CVSO meat inspector Jerome Maapoy and Marivic Bosque from CAO went to Zapote Public Market and Annex Talipapa.
The mayor warned vendors as well as establishments selling pork and chicken found to be violating the price ceiling that will be slapped with show cause order or suspension of their permits.
