MASON, Ohio â A Mason firefighter is accused of assaulting a police officer and the cityâs fire chief, according to a police report.
Joseph Mikal Bales, 27, assaulted officer Jeremy Saylor and Mason Fire Chief Bryan Brumagen at about 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Mason Fire Department on Mason Montgomery Road, according to the report.
City spokesperson Jennifer Heft confirmed Bales is a Mason firefighter/EMT and that he has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending investigation.
Both victims sustained minor injuries, according to the police report. Itâs unclear what led up to the incident.

MASON, Ohio (FOX19) - An employee of the Mason Fire Department has been charged with assault after he punched his boss in the face, court documents say.
Police were dispatched Tuesday morning for a fight at Mason Fire Station 51.
The documents say Joseph Bales, 27, punched Fire Chief Bryan Brumagen twice in the face.
When officers arrived on the scene, Bales allegedly punched police Sgt. Jeremy Saylor in the face as well.
