RWJ Barnabas Health mandates all employees take COVID-19 shot

RWJ Barnabas Health mandates all employees take COVID-19 shot RWJ Barnabas Health made it official Monday that all employees and medical staff will be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by Oct. 15. The health system earlier required those in a supervisory position or higher to show proof of vaccination by the end of June or face termination. Six employees did not comply and are no longer employed by RWJ Barnabas Health. As expected, RWJ Barnabas Health issued a mandate for all other workers to roll up their sleeve, according to Executive Vice President and Chief Medical and Quality Officer John F. Bonamo. As with supervisory personnel, failure to comply will result in separation from the organization.

NJ COVID vaccine: More South Jersey residents fully vaccinated

But to get from 50 to 70 percent, the state and its southern region will need to convince hesitant residents to roll up their sleeves. And so far, that is proving to be difficult.   South Jersey’s largest vaccination sites are trying to draw people in by making the process, a couple months ago an exercise in frantic scrolling and refreshing to find even one appointment, more convenient than it has been since vaccinations started in December. All three South Jersey mega sites and the Camden County College location, which administers as many daily doses as a mega site, have opened walk-in appointments within the past two weeks. It is now possible to just drive up to a site, walk in, take your shot and walk back out in minutes.
