He had just been sent to afghanistan after being promoted to Deputy Commander of training. It was supposed to be a routine visit to an Afghan Military academy tuesday, the general there to check on the progress of afghan troops in training. From an elevated position, the shooter, a member of the Afghan Security forces, strikes using an automatic weapon. General greene is hit, and more than a dozen others wounded. Within seconds, american soldiers, socalled guardian angels, fire back killing the gunman. Any form of trust between the afghans and the u. S. Trainers has now been fully broken.
