About a catalytic converter theft in progress at three in the morning. Officers spotted the sienna at third and norfolk , the officer attempted to pull over that vehicle. That vehicle refused to yield to our officer , officer Alison Gilmore says that led to a chase out of the city pursuit began that started off in that neighborhood ended up going downtown ended up moving towards the hills of san mateo and eventually being in the hillsboro area. During the chase, a wheel popped off and hit a patrol car in the minivan crashed. The three people inside , ran off and went in different directions. One of our officers was able to pursue one of those suspects, and during that pursuit, the suspect kicked her officer in the face while he was climbing a fence. The peninsula has seen a big jump in catalytic converter thefts, with thieves going after the Precious Metals inside.
