The East London Museum held a remembrance day for the anniversary of the sinking of the Oceanos cruise ship, ,which went down along the Wild Coast on August 4 1991.
Wearing tuxedos and evening dresses and sipping hot soup, art lovers celebrated the official opening of the Umtiza Arts Festival at East London’s Guild Theatre on Tuesday evening.
Children squealed in delight as the Grinch grumbled about with fellow Dr Seuss characters as part of an interactive storytelling event at the Book Lounge in Nahoon on Saturday. The rainy weather made for the perfect setting as actors from the Jen Bryson Moorcroft Theatre troupe rolled around covered in green paint or showing off in signature red and white stripes to raise funds for the Joy of Books NPO.
Needing a way to connect to others and rediscover their own creativity amid Covid-19, local theatre maker, Jen Bryson Moorcroft and crafter and NGO counsellor, Abi Ackhurst launched a regular creative meet-up for women.
