Wed Feb 24 2021 Three members of the Ogun State House of Assembly elected on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), on Tuesday, defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The defectors are the Minority Whip, Jemili Akingbade (Imeko Afon), Adegoke Adeyanju (Yewa North 1) and Wahab Haruna representing Yewa North 11 constituency. They announced their defection in separate letters read by the Speaker of the Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, during plenary in Abeokuta. The lawmakers stated that they decided to join the ruling party after due consultations with their constituents and supporters. The speaker congratulated the lawmakers for joining the ruling party, saying their defection would boost the party’s structure and the development of the state. ....
The lawmakers, who announced their defection during plenary, include Jemili Akingbade, who was also the former Minority Whip, Adegoke Adeyanju, and Wahab Haruna The Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, read their separate letters of defection to the members of the assembly.
