Auditor elected by write-in votes in Hawley

HAWLEY Write-in candidate Carla Clark will take over as auditor and incumbent Robert McLean will continue serving on the Selectboard/Board of Health following the results of Monday’s annual town election.
The election, which saw no contested races and no one on the ballot for the auditor’s position, was held at Town Hall from 11:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. According to Town Clerk Pamela Shrimpton, 39 of Hawley’s 268 registered voters cast their ballots, making for a 14.55 percent voter turnout.
McLean received 37 votes to retain his seat on the Selectboard/Board of Health for a three-year term. Clark’s 12 write-in votes secured her the auditor’s seat for one year.

Hawley resident Christine Hicks has her ballot cranked into the vintage voting machine outside Hawley Town Hall in June 2020. This year’s town election will be held Monday, May 3.

HAWLEY The annual town election will be held Monday, May 3, from 11:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 8 Pudding Hollow Road. There are no contested races.
The offices to be voted on are:
