completely near the zoo interchange starting at 11:00 tonight, and possibly lasting until sunday morning. wisn 12 news kent wainscott shows us what will be done this weekend. wisconsin s busiest interchange is rising to new heights. giant cranes will be moved into position to set in place four of those enormous blue tub girders, as they re called. that actually holds the roadway up. they are the support for what will be the eastbound to northbound ramp in the zoo systan construction project manager, mark klipstein, says the interstate has to be shutdown because the work will be happen far up above the roadway. they re going to be lifted up and then they re going to be air-spliced up in the air. this would have actually gone over eastbound 94 traffic, so we can t allow that to happen. it s playing out so high above to road, in fact, that it marks a milestone of sorts for the project. this system ramp is the highest system ramp in the interchange, so we re going up
